I'm so proud of these amazing women -- it takes a lot of courage to get up and perform in front of people, especially for this group because most of them had never danced prior January 2024. I am grateful that my “belly sisters” from back in the day were so supportive of my idea to pay (shimmy) it forward. Thanks to their and other donors’ generosity, I had the financial means to launch the first-ever “Shimmy It Forward” scholarship program in 2024-2025. Stephanie is proud to present the opportunity for one person to receive one month’s free tuition for belly dancing at Alegria Performing Arts Academy! The funds were contributed by those who benefited from previous belly dancers' contributions, and have generously decided to pay (shimmy) it forward. All applicants will be entered into a random lottery for one ticket to our upcoming "Galentines Day 2025" celebration on 2/9/25 at Alegria!

Applications will be evaluated on demonstration of interest/motivation, goals and award impact. The application window will open 11/8/24 and close 1/6/25 (no late entries will be considered). Winners will be notified by 1/17/25.
